Circle in partnership with HMP Addiewell and Families Outside
This seminar will provide an opportunity for reflection on the value and importance of engaging with fathers, recognising the critical role they play in their children’s and families’ lives. Gentleman (2014) stated that when fathers build strong relationships with their children and others in the family they also receive support and caring in return and ‘healthy family relationships provide the strongest and most important support network a person can have'.
We are delighted to welcome four dads to this seminar who will share their own experiences of the valuable role they play as dad and importantly what works and critically what does not work when being provided with support.
The Year of the Dad places fathers right at the heart of our practice when thinking about families and our communities. The work of Circle, HMP Addiewell and Families Outside creates integral links to positively engage with fathers, ultimately benefiting children, families, mothers and fathers themselves. Working alongside fathers and their families we can support them in being the dad they want to be and can be
